ABOUT Rava Sheera (Sooji Ka Halwa) RECIPE

A wonderful dessert that can be prepared in minutes. It does not require much preparation in advance and can be whipped up even at short notice. Rava sheera is traditional, yet modern in its simplicity, making it a sheer delight. Sheera makes a traditional and delightful combination with puris and chana.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup semolina (rava)
  2. 1/2 cup Ghee
  3. 1/2 cup warm milk
  4. 1 cup sugar
  5. 1 tbsp chopped almonds
  6. 1 tbsp chopped pistachios
  7. Garnish -
  8. 1 tsp almonds
  9. 1/2 tsp pistachios
  10. 1 chopped fig
  11. Few saffron strands

Instructions

  1. Heat the ghee in a broad non-stick pan, add the semolina and roast on a slow flame for 6 to 8 minutes. , while stirring occasionally.
  2. Add the milk, 1/2 cup of hot water, mix well and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
  3. Add the sugar, almonds and pistachios and mix well. Cover and cook on a slow flame for 5 to 7 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve immediately garnished with almonds, pistachios, figs and saffron strands!
