Ingredients to make Nellikaai Kaarakozhambhu

  • onion 1 chopped
  • oil 8 tbsp
  • Amlas 15 cut into halves
  • garlic 15 pods peeled
  • mustard
  • methi seeds
  • Ural dal
  • curry leaves 2 sprigs
  • Asafoteida
  • coconut ground into a paste 50 gms

How to make Nellikaai Kaarakozhambhu

  1. Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard, urad dal, curry leaves and let it splutter. Add the onion, garlic and asafoteida. Once soft, add amlas and saute. Add salt, turmeric, chili powder. After oil separates, add the coconut paste.
  2. Add required water and let it simmer till oil separates.
  3. Serve with rice
