Garbanzo Beans

Ingredients to make Garbanzo Beans

  • water - 3 Cups
  • Garbanzo Beans (Soaked) - 2 Cups
  • olive Oil - 2 Tablespoons
  • onion (Thinly Sliced) - 1 Large
  • garlic (Finely Chopped) - 3 Cloves
  • tomatoes (Peeled and Coarsely Chopped) - 3 Large
  • Green pepper (De-Seeded and sliced) - 1 Medium
  • salt - 2 Teaspoons
  • pepper - 1/2 Teaspoons
  • Dried Tarragon Leaves - 1/2 Teaspoons
  • Dried Basil Leaves - 3/4 Teaspoons
  • parsley (Chopped) - 1 Tablespoons

How to make Garbanzo Beans

  1. Pour water into the cooker. Add the beans. Bring to a boil on a high flame. Skim off the scum, if any.
  2. Close the cooker. Bring to full pressure on a medium heat. Reduce the heat and cook for 18 minutes.
  3. Remove the cooker from the heat. Allow to cool naturally.
  4. Open the cooker. Then strain the beans.
  5. Remove the skins that have come loose.
  6. Heat oil in the rinsed cooker for about 2 minutes.
  7. Add onions and garlic. Stir fry till the onion becomes transparent. Add tomatoes, cook for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add in the beans and remaining ingredients (except parsley).
  8. Mix well.
  9. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

My Tip:

Use olive oil, it's very healthy and good for cooking deliciously super aromatic foods!
