Spinach Chickpeas Curry and Lemon Rice

Ingredients to make Spinach Chickpeas Curry and Lemon Rice

  • For Spinach chickpeas curry
  • chickpeas 200 gm soaked for 3 to 4 hours
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • onions 100 gm
  • garlic 5 to 6 cloves
  • spinach chopped 1 cup
  • ginger and green chilli paste 1 tbs
  • oil 3 tbs
  • salt
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • cumin and coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Kitchen king powder 1 tsp
  • curd 1/2 cup
  • For lemon Rice
  • Boiled rice 2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • ghee 2 tbs
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • lemon juice 2 tsp
  • coriander chopped 3 tbs

How to make Spinach Chickpeas Curry and Lemon Rice

  1. Let us start with the Spinach Chickpeas Curry.
  2. Soak chickpeas overnight for 4 to 5 hours.
  3. Add salt in chickpeas and pressure cook in cooker.
  4. Make fine paste of onions and garlic.
  5. In a pan heat oil and add cumin seeds. When cumin starts crackling add ginger-chilli paste and onion-garlic paste. Stir it continuously.
  6. Now add chopped spinach and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes.
  7. Add salt, turmeric powder, cumin coriander powder, kitchen king masala and boiled chickpeas. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  8. Add curd. Mix it well and cook for 1 minute and turn off the flame. Your Spinach Chickpeas Curry is ready to be served.
  9. Now make the lemon rice.
  10. Heat the 2 tbs of ghee and add turmeric powder in it.
  11. Add the ghee to boiled rice.
  12. Add salt, lemon juice and coriander in rice and give a good stir.
  13. Your lemon rice is ready to be served.
