About Baigan Bharta Recipe

It is a very easy and tasty recipe of baigan/brinjal.

Baigan Bharta

Ingredients to make Baigan Bharta

  • 1 kg - baigan peeled and cut in cubes
  • 4 - chopped onion
  • 4 - chopped tomatos
  • 2 - chopped green chilly
  • 1 tbs - haldi
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tbs - red chilly powder
  • 1 tbsp - garam masala
  • oil - 2 Tbsp
  • 1 tbsp - jeera seeds
  • Dhaniya patti/coriander for garnish

How to make Baigan Bharta

  1. Boil cubes of baigan in cooker for 2 whistles.
  2. In a pan, put 2 tbs oil after heating put jeera.
  3. When jeera colour is changed, put onion, stir till onion becomes golden
  4. Now add chopped tomatoes, chilly and stir for 2 minutes.
  5. Put haldi, red chilly powder. Let it cook for a few minutes.
  6. Now add boiled baigan, salt, mash them and stir for 2 minutes.
  7. Add garam masala, garnish with coriander leaves.

My Tip:

You can put some boiled peas in this recipe also.
