Bitter Gourd fry

Ingredients to make Bitter Gourd fry

  • 2 medium size bitter gourds
  • 2 tbsp home made sambar powder
  • 1 tbsp tamarind juice
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp jaggery

How to make Bitter Gourd fry

  1. Wash and cut the bitter gourd into small pieces
  2. Heat the pan add oil when oil is hot add bitter gourd pieces fry well for 2 to 3 minutes on a high flame
  3. Now add salt turmeric stir well for 2 minutes and add jaggery stir
  4. Keep on stirring for 1 more minute now add sambar powder stir for 2 more minutes After 2 minutes add tamarind juice stir well
  5. Now add 1 cup water cook for 5 minutes or until water evaporates
  6. Adjust salt. stir. serve with sambar rice.
