Nethili Vada / Anchovies Fritters

Ingredients to make Nethili Vada / Anchovies Fritters

  • Nethili / Anchovy- 250 gm (deboned)
  • coconut- 1/4 cup
  • Small onion- 8
  • Dry red chilli / Vathal- 1
  • Green chilli- 1
  • curry leaves- 2 string
  • fennel- 1 tbsp
  • cinnamon - 1 " piece
  • oil to deep fry
  • ginger Garlic paste- 1  tsp
  • salt as needed

How to make Nethili Vada / Anchovies Fritters

  1. Clean the Anchovies and debone it.
  2. In a blender, grind the fennel seeds, cinnamon, red chilli, green chilli, salt ,shallots, ginger garlic paste and curry leaves to a coarse paste.
  3. Now, Open the lid and add the Anchovies and just give one pulse. Don't grind it to smooth paste.
  4. Transfer it to a bowl and mix it well.
  5. Make into small sized patties. Deep fry on both sides till it becomes golden brown in colour.
  6. Hot and flavorful vada is ready. Serve it with ketchup or as a side dish for meals.
