Ingredients to make Oats Kala Chana Or Black Chickpeas Kabab

  • Kala chana or black chickpeas 1 cup
  • onion 3 chopped
  • garlic 3 - 4 cloves
  • ginger 1 inch piece chopped
  • Green chilli 2 - 3
  • Black pepper 5 - 6
  • Green cardamom 3
  • cinnamon a small piece
  • cloves 3
  • Oats 1 cup ground
  • coriander leaves handful chopped
  • salt to taste
  • cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala powder 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chaat masala powder 1 teaspoon
  • oil for shallow frying

How to make Oats Kala Chana Or Black Chickpeas Kabab

  1. Soak the Kala chana or black chickpeas overnight and boil in pressure cooker with 2 chopped onions, garlic, ginger, green chilli, black pepper, green cardamom, cinnamon and cloves.
  2. Drain or dried up the water of black chickpeas. Let it cool down and grind with all the spices in it.
  3. In a bowl mix it with ground oats, salt, chopped 1 onion, spices and chopped coriander leaves.
  4. Mix well with your hand. Make small round shaped kabab or patties.
  5. Shallow fry on medium hot oil till crisp and brown on both sides.
  6. Serve these hot veg kebabs with onion rings and chutney or sauce.
