Ingredients to make Nachos With Roasted Tomato Salsa

  • For nachos -
  • Yellow maize flour (makke ka atta) 1.5 cup
  • all purpose flour (maida) 10 tsp
  • salt
  • oil 4 tbsp
  • Carrom seed 2 tsp
  • Oregano 1 tsp
  • water
  • oil for deep frying
  • For salsa -
  • tomatoes 5
  • tomato ketchup 2 tbsp
  • salt
  • Black pepper powder 1/4 tsp
  • Finely chopped medium size onion 1
  • Green chilli finely chopped 2
  • oil
  • coriander leaves finely chopped 3 tbsp

How to make Nachos With Roasted Tomato Salsa

  1. Nachos -
  2. In a bowl, prepare a dough by mixing maize flour, all purpose flour, salt, oil, carrom seed and oregano.
  3. The dough should be soft but neither too soft nor too hard. Let it rest for 15 minutes
  4. Prepare balls of the same size as you would do for making chapati
  5. Roll the dough balls to preapre a flatbread (like chapati)
  6. Make small holes in the flatbread with a fork. Now with a knife cut it into pieces like pizza slices. From 1 roll you can make 16 pieces.
  7. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying . Add the nachos pieces one by one.
  8. Fry from both sides till it becomes brown and crispy.
  9. Repeat the same process for rest of the dough,
  10. When the nachos cools down, keep it in a air tight container.
  11. Salsa -
  12. Grill the 5 tomatoes till black from all sides
  13. Once they cool down, peel the skin. Do not wash the tomatoes
  14. Chop 2 tomatoes into small pieces and blend rest of the 3 in mixer
  15. In a pan heat oil and add chopped onion and chillies.
  16. When the onions becomes a little sweaty add rest of the ingredients and mix properly
  17. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes
  18. Let it cool down. serve with the nachos

My Tip:

While preparing the nachos dough, you can add any dried herbs of your choice like rosemary etc. The salsa dip can be used with other snacks like tacos, burritos, tortillas etc
