Til Gur Ki Chikki

Ingredients to make Til Gur Ki Chikki

  • 1 cup of jaggery(Gur)
  • 1 1/4 cup of sesame seed

How to make Til Gur Ki Chikki

  1. Heat a pan. Add sesame seeds.
  2. Roast the seeds for few minutes on the medium heta until it becomes light brown in color. (Don't over roast the seeds until they can become bitter in taste.)
  3. Now take seeds in the plate. Use the same pan, add 1 1/2 tbsp ghee. Add jaggery pieces. Once the jaggery pieces start melting, stir it with the pan.
  4. Now add Sesame seeds and mix well. Turn off the gas
  5. When it completely melts, cook it for 2-3 minutes and stir continuously. Now take butter paper or parchment paper or any plate or tray. Grease it with ghee. Spread it evenly.(Make sure mixture is hot, cold mixture won't spread easily)
  6. Now take rolling pin, grease it with ghee and then start rolling, roll it as thin as you can.
  7. Cut the spread mixture into square shape or any desired shape with knife or pizza cutter.
  8. Let the chiki cool down . Separate the pieces and store in an airtight container.
My Tip: The mixture should be hot during rolling and cutting. When you add sesame in jaggery, and find that jaggery is more in quantity, then add more sesame to get the right balance
