Bitter Gourd Salad

Ingredients to make Bitter Gourd Salad

  • Bitter gourd - 1 large
  • Finely chopped onion - 1/4 cup
  • tomato - 1 (Deseeded and finely chopped)
  • lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  • oil - 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder - 1 and 1/2 tsp
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp

How to make Bitter Gourd Salad

  1. Wash and cut the bitter gourd in half lengthwise and scoop out all the seeds and spongy stuff. Chop into small pieces.
  2. In a bowl add the chopped bitter gourd and salt, mix and keep it aside for 5 minutes to remove the bitter taste from it. Then squeeze out the excess water from it.
  3. Heat the non-stick kadhai add 1 tsp oil, bitter gourd, salt and red chili powder. Fry it on medium flame until it turns crispy.
  4. In a bowl add fried bitter gourd, chopped onion, chopped tomato, lemon juice, coriander leaves and salt. Mix and serve it immediately.

My Tip:

Marinate the bitter gourd with salt to remove the excess bitter taste from it. Adjust the lemon juice and salt according to your taste.
