ABOUT Palak Ghonto ( Bengali Style ) RECIPE

Stir fried spinach with brinjal and lentil vadi , healthy and yummy.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Spinach 2 Bunches
  2. Brinjal 2
  3. Potato 1
  4. Garlic pods 4 crushed
  5. Onion 1 chopped
  6. Dry Red chilli 1
  7. Bay leaf 1
  8. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  9. Salt
  10. Green chilli 1
  11. Tomato 1
  12. Dal vadi 7_8, fried in little oil with salt and turmeric powder

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop spinach
  2. Cut potato and brinjal in cubes
  3. Chop onion and tomato
  4. Heat oil add dry red chilli
  5. Add bay leaf too
  6. Now fry potato until they are red
  7. Now keep them aside
  8. Now heat some more oil add onion and garlic
  9. Fry until they are soft and translucent
  10. Now add brinjal
  11. Fry for 5_6 mins
  12. Add spinach
  13. Cover and cook for 3_4 mins
  14. Add turmeric powder and salt
  15. Add green chilli
  16. Add chopped tomatoes
  17. Cover and cook for 5 mins more
  18. Add potatoes
  19. Cook until all water dries up
  20. Garnish with dal vadi
  21. Switch off gas serve hot with steamed rice
