Baked Pizza Roll

Ingredients to make Baked Pizza Roll

  • 8 bread slices
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 Cup Pizza Toppings of your choice (I have used Chicken, Corn, capsicum, Onions and Olives)
  • 100 gms Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 tsp Pizza Seasoning (can use plain oregano)
  • 1 tsp Chili Flakes (or to taste)
  • 1 tbsp olive Oil for drizzling

How to make Baked Pizza Roll

  1. Preheat the Oven to 200 degree Centigrade.
  2. Grease a baking tray and set aside
  3. Dice the pizza toppings and grate the cheese.
  4. In a bowl, mix together the toppings, pizza seasoning, chilli flakes and 1/2 of the cheese. Set aside.
  5. Take a clean kitchen towel and make it damp... (there should be just a little moisture, to prevent the bread from breaking when you roll it out.
  6. Place each slice of bread on one side of the towel, cover with the other half and using a rolling pin flatten the slice of bread. Repeat for all the slices
  7. Lay the rolled bread on a flat surface (i use my chopping board)
  8. Spread a spoonful of sauce on the bread leaving about 1cm free from one of the edge. Next evenly sprinkle the pizza topping mix. Sprinkle a little more cheese.
  9. Now starting from one edge move towards the edge that is not covered with the toppings. rolling tightly to form a roll. Arrange on the greased baking tray.
  10. Repeat for all the bread slices. This works fastest if you create an assembly line.
  11. Drizzle / Brush lightly with a little Olive Oil
  12. Sprinkle any remaining cheese on top and some pizza seasoning
  13. Bake in the middle of the oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
  14. Remove and serve with Ketchup / Chilli Sauce.

My Tip:

Use whole wheat bread or multigrain bread to make a healthier option.
