Beetroot Raita

Ingredients to make Beetroot Raita

  • Beetroot - 1
  • Thick curd - 1 1/2 cups
  • Green chilies - 1Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tsp -
  • Jeera powder - 1 tsp
  • Mint leaves for garnishing.
  • Chat masala as per taste
  • Black pepper as per taste
  • Black salt as per taste
  • Salt as per taste

How to make Beetroot Raita

  1. Wash and grate the beetroot. Keep aside.
  2. Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a wok pan, add cumin seeds/jeera.
  3. Add the grated beetroot and cook for a few minutes.Let it cool.
  4. Take the curd in a bowl. Churn it well.
  5. Add black salt, salt, chat masala, jeera powder, 1 chopped green chilly. (Make sure you add in these powders gradually as you don't want either of them to dominate the flavour.)
  6. Now mix in beetroot and chill the raita in the fridge.
  7. Garnish with mint leaves before serving.
My Tip: Tastes best when served chilled.
