Rainbow dhokla

Ingredients to make Rainbow dhokla

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 3/4 cup gram flour
  • water 2 cups and a little more
  • 2 tbsp beetroot puree(Recipe given in tip section)
  • 2 tbsp green leafy vegetables puree(recipe given in tip section)
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • oil 3 -4 tbsp
  • Eno 1 packet
  • salt to taste
  • For Tempering:
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • curry leaves 1 sprig
  • oil 1 tbsp

How to make Rainbow dhokla

  1. Take gram flour and semolina in a bowl and add salt to it
  2. Now add water as needed and prepare batter
  3. Add oil in it and mix well
  4. Divide the batter into four equal portion into four bowls
  5. Now add beetroot puree in one bowl and mix well
  6. Take second bowl and add green puree and mix well
  7. In the third bowl add turmeric powder and mix properly
  8. And leave the last one as it is
  9. Grease a deep mould and prepare steamer
  10. Now take white coloured bowl and add 1 tsp of who in it , pour 1 tbsp of water on eno and mix quickly
  11. Repeat same process with all the bowls quickly
  12. Now pour the white batter into mould and tap it
  13. Then pour beetroot batter unevenly on the white batter and this time no need to tap
  14. Same as pour the green puree on the on it
  15. And lastly pour the yellow batter of turmeric powder
  16. Steam it for about 18 to 20 minutes ( first 10 mins on medium high flame then on low flame)
  17. Mean while heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds
  18. When mustard seeds splutter add curry leaves and switch off the flame
  19. Pour the tempering on dhokla
