Ingredients to make Bread Pudding

  • Nestle Milkmaid Sweetened Condensed Milk - 1/2 tin (200gms)
  • Brown bread slices - 6
  • Low fat milk - 2 cups
  • Unsalted butter - 25 grams
  • eggs Beaten - 3
  • raisins and walnuts - 75 grams
  • nutmeg Powder - one pinch
  • Vanilla essence - few drops (optional)

How to make Bread Pudding

  1. Pre - heat the oven at 160C.
  2. Trim the sides of bread slices and cut them in triangular shape. Apply butter on both sides. Take a oven safe dish and make a single layer of bread. Sprinkle half of walnuts and raisins mixture. Now arrange the second layer of bread.
  3. Mix milk, nutmeg powder, milkmaid and eggs to a smooth mixture. Pour generously all over the bread evenly. Sprinkle rest of the walnuts and raisins mixture.
  4. Bake at 160 C for 30 to 40 minutes or till the top is golden brown. Serve hot or cold as desired.

My Tip:

For a healthier version I have used brown bread and reduced the milk maid quantity. You can change the sweetness according to your choice. A dollop of icecream and chocolate sauce will enhance the dish.
