Ingredients to make Bhape Eelish (steamed Hilsa)

  • Bhape eelish :
  • Hilsa fish pieces - 6
  • Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • mustard seeds - 2 tbsp
  • Green chillis - 3
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt
  • mustard oil
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Slitted green chillies- 2

How to make Bhape Eelish (steamed Hilsa)

  1. Make a paste of grated coconut, mustard seeds, salt, sugar, green chillies in a blender with required amount of water.
  2. Now mix the Turmeric powder and mustard oil into the above paste.
  3. Rub this paste all over the hilsa fish prices. Allow them to marinate for 30 minutes.
  4. Now transfer the marinated fishe pieces and rest of the marinade with Slitted green chillies and some more mustard oil into a microwave safe bowl.
  5. Cook this in a microwave for 10 minutes. 6. Drizzle some more mustard oil on top before serving.
