Orange squash

Ingredients to make Orange squash

  • Oranges-3 kg
  • sugar-1 kg
  • water-1 ltr
  • lemon juice-2 tbsp
  • Potassium metabisulphite-1/2 tsp

How to make Orange squash

  1. First take sugar and water in a pan and boil.Just boil till the sugar melts and you get a sticky syrup.No strings required.
  2. Add 2 tbsp lemon juice so that sugar doesn't crydtallise.
  3. Let this syrup cool down.
  4. Squeeze juice from all oranges and immediately add to the syrup
  5. Take potassium metabisulphite in a small cup and take half cup squash,mix properly and add to rest of the squash.Stir everything well.
  6. Fill the squash in sterilised glass bottles and refrigerate.
  7. Whenever you wish to drink orange juice,just take 1/4th glass of squash and add 3/4 th water to it.Enjoy.

My Tip:

Take big oranges which we are getting a lot now a days as they are sweet. After adding preservative do not drink the squash immediately,you can drink after 3 days. I kept one small bottle without preservative for immediate use:-) Do not keep the orange juice after sqeezing for long time as it will turn bitter.Add it immediately to the syrup. Can add chaat masala to this juice to make it more tasty.
