#Kuttu/buckwheat puri

Ingredients to make #Kuttu/buckwheat puri

  • Kuttu/ buckwheat flour 1 cup
  • Singhara flour 1 cup
  • Boiled and mashed potatoes 1 cup
  • salt 1 tesp
  • red chilli powder 1/2 tesp
  • oil for frying

How to make #Kuttu/buckwheat puri

  1. In a mixing bowl mix together both flours, salt, red chilli powder and mashed potatoes.
  2. Mix them very well patiently till it binds into a tight dough without adding water.
  3. Add a tablespoon of oil to dough and knead well.
  4. Heat oil in a wok.
  5. Pinch small balls out of the dough, roll them using rolling pin and dusting with kuttu flour, into puris and deepfry in hot oil.
  6. Remove to kitchen towel and serve with potato curry and curd.

My Tip:

Boiled and mashed potatoes can be combined or replaced with boiled and mashed arbi or raw banana. Prepare the dough at the time when you are ready to make puris not before.
