Chandrakala gujiya

Ingredients to make Chandrakala gujiya

  • For crust
  • All purpose floor 250 gram
  • Vanaspati ghee 30 gram
  • Salt a pinch
  • For Filling
  • Mawa 100 gram
  • Grated Coconut 50 gram
  • Dry fruit 50 gram
  • Sugar 50 gram
  • Elaichi powder a pinch
  • For sugar syrup
  • Sugar 2 cup
  • Water 1/2 cup

How to make Chandrakala gujiya

  1. Mix all the ingredients of crust and make dough
  2. Keep this dough for 10-15 mins
  3. Now for filling mix vanaspati and mawa and dry fry in a pan for 2-3 mins
  4. Remove from gas now mix grated coconut, sugar, dryfruit, elaichi powder and mix well
  5. Now make two small puri from dough
  6. Fill with the filling in middle and close it
  7. Now as shown in the picture twist the sides of the puri like a knot and close the side
  8. Make sugar syrup with water and sugar as given in ingredients
  9. Just boil the syrup once and remove from gas
  10. Now warm oil and deep fry the gujiyas
  11. Oil should not be too hot for it.
  12. Now add the gujiyas to the syrup and coat it well in syrup
  13. Remove from syrup and decorate well with silver wark and dryfruit
My Tip: Add sugar and all the ingredients in mawa after the gas is off so that sugar doesn't dissolve and make the mixture runny.
