Ingredients to make Suji kakara pitha

  • For dough
  • Suji 3cups
  • Atta1cup
  • Jaggery 1/2cup
  • Salt 1/2tspn
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Water2cups
  • For fillings
  • Butter milk chena 2cups
  • Cardamom 1/2 teaspoon
  • Jaggery 1cup
  • Black pepper powder 1/4th teaspoon
  • Jaggery
  • Khaya 1/2cup

How to make Suji kakara pitha

  1. In a nonstick pan boil water,jaggery and bay leafs.
  2. Then mix the suji and atta and put into that boiling water.stir slightly n when water evaporated, take out from gas and cover it for 10minutes.
  3. When it beceme cool make it dough as we do for roti. Keep it aside.
  4. To make filling simply add chena, jaggery and khaya into a hot pan. Slightly fry it for a while to evaporated the moisture. Then add elaichi powder and black pepper powder.
  5. Devide the dough in to small equal portion. Take 1 part and put some filling in it and give different shapes to the dough.
  6. Hit oil in a pan. Put all kakaras in this oil and fry it till the kakaras become dark brown.
  7. Take out from oil and serve hot or cool.
My Tip: You can make fillings ofcoconut also.
