Ingredients to make Unprocessed Cashewnuts curry

  • Unprocessed cashew - 1/2 kg
  • onions small - 6
  • ginger garlic paste - 1 or 2 tsp
  • Home made whole spices powder - 1 tsp
  • red chilli Powder - 2 Tsp
  • turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • curry leaves - 2 to 3 springs
  • mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • water - 2 cups

How to make Unprocessed Cashewnuts curry

  1. These cashews have to be soaked overnight to be skinned easily
  2. Wash and clean with warm water
  3. Take a pan, add 2 tbsp of oil
  4. Add mustard seeds
  5. When it splutters add the chopped onions and saute
  6. Add the curry leaves and the ginger garlic paste
  7. Saute for a while
  8. Now add the spice powders and saute adding some salt
  9. Lastly add the cashew, mix
  10. Add the water, check for salt, cover and simmer till cooked
  11. Keep checking in between for doneness.

My Tip:

While simmering, cashews have to be checked quite often as if they are overcooked it would taste soft and smudgy.
