Ingredients to make Banana Idli

  • 4 raw bananas
  • 1 Cup Urad Dal (split black lentil)
  • 3 Cups Par Boiled Rice ( Ukda Rice)
  • 1-1/2 Teaspoon coconut powder
  • Sugar to taste
  • Oil for greasing
  • Chocolate syrup for garnishing

How to make Banana Idli

  1. Soak the Urad Dal and rice separately for 3 hours in enough water and drain.
  2. Blend the urad dal in mixer blender till smooth. Remove it and keep aside.
  3. Blend Rice in a mixer blender till smooth. Keep it aside too.
  4. Combine the urad dal paste and rice in a bowl . Cover and keep aside to ferment overnight.
  5. Once the batter is fermented, Add grated raw bananas , coconut powder and sugar.
  6. Now take a pressure cooker without its whistle and put 1-1/2 cup water in it. Heat it.
  7. Put appropriate batter into greased idli moulds and steam for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Repeat with the remaining batter to make more idlis.
  9. Garnish it with fresh bananas and chocolate syrup.
  10. Serve It.
My Tip: We can tamper the idli batter to make it yummier.
