Ingredients to make Panchamritham

  • Very ripe bananas -2 ( I used long variety)
  • Brown sugar / Jaggery - 1/4 cup
  • Honey - 2 tbsp
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Seedless Dates - 10 (Finely chopped)
  • Rock sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Edible camphor - a mustard size
  • Cardamom Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Raisins - 1 tbsp

How to make Panchamritham

  1. Peel the banana and slice it. Place all the ingredients in a bowl except rock sugar. Mash it very well with your hands/potato masher.
  2. Its not necessary to mash it too smooth, finally add the rock sugar and mix.
  3. You can offer this while pooja.

My Tip:

Always use very ripe bananas for this recipe. You can also add the fruits like apple, grapes, oranges etc .This mixed fruit panchamritham is offered only in lord vishnu temple. You can skip edible camphor too but it gives authentic smell and taste.
