Vegetable semiya upma

Ingredients to make Vegetable semiya upma

  • Semiya/ Vermicelli - 1 cup
  • Onions - 2, thinly sliced
  • Carrots - 1, diced
  • Green Peas - 1/4 cup
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Ginger, finely chopped - 1 tsp
  • Green Chillies - 2, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - a few

How to make Vegetable semiya upma

  1. In a pan, heat a little and temper with mustard seeds, ginger, green chillies and curry leaves.
  2. Add thinly sliced onions to it and saute for a minute.
  3. Add the diced carrots and green peas and let it cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the vermicelli to it, and mix well
  5. Add enough water just until the vermicelli is immersed, cover and cook until the vermicelli is done, stirring in between.
  6. Serve hot with coconut chutney, or with sugar sprinkled over it.
