Oats Poha

Ingredients to make Oats Poha

  • 1 cup - oats
  • 1 - green chili finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup - onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup - tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup - peanutsroasted
  • 1/4 cup - cilantro finely chopped
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric
  • A pinch of asofetida
  • salt & oil as required

How to make Oats Poha

  1. Take a pan or wok, roast the oats for 2 mins on a medium gas. Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in the same pan, add mustard seeds and asafoetida, when it cracks, add green chilli, onions, turmeric and salt. Stir for 3-4 mins.
  3. Add tomatoes cook for 3-4 mins or until tomatoes become tender on medium gas.
  4. Add Oats and mix well. Cook it for 3-4 mins on medium low gas. Turn off the gas.
  5. Add lemon juice. Mix well. Garnish with cilantro and peanuts.

My Tip:

No need to add water. You can add other vegetables like bell peppers, carrots etc.
