Ingredients to make Steamed dahi wada

  • black gram skinned (dhuli urad dal) 1 cup
  • curd 2 cups
  • Sweet tamarind sauce 1/2 cup
  • Fruit salt 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  • water as needed
  • Spicy green chutney 2 tbsp
  • red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Chat masala 1/2 tsp

How to make Steamed dahi wada

  1. Soak urad dal for 4-5 hours in water then grind to a fine thick paste by adding little water
  2. Mix salt and fruit salt to the paste of dal
  3. Grease the idli mould and put dal paste in every section of mould with spoon
  4. Steam it for 10 minutes, check with toothpick, if it comes out clean its done if not steam for few more minutes
  5. After steaming let it cool down then place this dumplings to the serving dish
  6. Take curd in a bowl mix salt in it and beat little to make it smooth in texture
  7. Pour this curd on dumplings then garnish it with turmeric sauce green chutney
  8. Season it with red chilli powder chat masala cumin powder a d serve
