Ingredients to make Mambazham Pachadi ( Ripe Mango in Curd)

  • Curd: 1 small Cup
  • Ripe Mango: 1 big size
  • Grated Coconut: 1/2 cup
  • Cumin/Jeera: 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds: 1/2 tsp
  • Curd : 1 cup
  • Jaggery : a gooseberry size ball (grated)
  • Dry red chillies: 2-3
  • Coconut oil: 2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves: 1 sprig
  • Mango Slices: cut in long for garnishing
  • Mint leaves for garnishing

How to make Mambazham Pachadi ( Ripe Mango in Curd)

  1. Cut the mango into medium cube pieces and cook it with salt.
  2. Meanwhile grind the coconut thoroughly with cumin, green chilli, shallots and ¼ tsp mustard seeds.
  3. Add this ground paste to the cooked mango and mix well. Cook for 3-4 mins.
  4. Add grated jaggery and mix again thoroughly.
  5. Remove from fire and mix curd in this mixture.
  6. Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  7. Pour the seasoning to the pachadi and garnish with slice mango and mint leaves
My Tip: Mango slice which we kept for garnishing, fry slightly along with tempering and decorate on top of pachadi while serving
