Sweet Corn Salad

Ingredients to make Sweet Corn Salad

  • 1 packet sweet corn kernels (100 grams) or one whole American sweet corn
  • salt to taste or 1/4 tsp
  • red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chaat masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • 1 lemon

How to make Sweet Corn Salad

  1. Wash the corn kernels and drain.
  2. Heat water in a deep pot, keep a sieve on it's top.
  3. Keep the washed and drained corn kernels on the sieve.
  4. Cover the sieve with a plate.
  5. Steam this corn on medium heat for 15 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, take a mixing bowl, add salt and red chilli powder to it.
  7. Then add chaat masala powder and mix well with a spoon.
  8. Add hot steamed corn to this bowl.
  9. Mix well again.
  10. Squeeze juice of half a lemon in it.
  11. Stir it and transfer to a serving bowl.
  12. Garnish with the other half of the lemon and dig into it.

My Tip:

You can steam the corn in advance and reheat a little in a pan before making this highly nutritious, tangy high fibre salad.
