Ingredients to make Dal Lucknowi

  • 1 cup toor dal
  • Salt
  • Pinch asafoetida
  • Half tsp turmeric
  • 2 and half cups water .
  • 2 green chillies
  • 6 garlic pods
  • 2 dry red chillies
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • Half bowl milk
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

How to make Dal Lucknowi

  1. wash dal , add salt , turmeric , asafoetida and green chillies and bring it to boil in cooker upto 3 whistles .
  2. heat ghee in a pan , add cumin seeds, dry red chillies , garlic and temper into dal and close the lid for two minutes and keep boiling .
  3. open lid add half bowl milk and mix very well , garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice or roti .
