Vegetable gratin

Ingredients to make Vegetable gratin

  • 3 tablespoon Plain flour lightly roasted
  • 1 small sized onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup cauliflower chopped/diced
  • 1/4 cup french beans chopped and blanched
  • 1/4 cup mushrooms thinly sliced
  • 225 grams cheese grated
  • 500 ml milk
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • Salt to taste

How to make Vegetable gratin

  1. Take a bowl, put in the flour, then gradually pour in the milk.
  2. Pour this mixture into a pan and bring it to a boil, then lower the flame and cook for a minute, till it is thick. Keep aside.
  3. Take a separate pan, heat in the butter. Then add in the cumin seeds, once they pop put in the chopped onion. Stir and cook on a high flame.
  4. Next, put in the vegetables and mushrooms, continue to stir fry on high heat. Continue frying until the vegetables are half cooked.
  5. Finally, pour in the milk mixture along with salt and stir well. Transfer this vegetable gratin to an oven-proof serving dish.
  6. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top and bake for 30 minutes on 180 degree celsius temperature.
  7. Serve hot alongside crusty bread.
