Instant Chivda

Ingredients to make Instant Chivda

  • 3 Cups - Thick Poha
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 3 - Green chilies, chopped
  • 2 tbsp - Peanuts
  • 2 Sprigs - Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - Garam masala
  • 1 tsp - Chat masala
  • 1 tsp - Oil for tempering
  • Oil for deep frying
  • 1 tsp - White sesame seeds
  • Salt as needed

How to make Instant Chivda

  1. Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan or kadhai. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves and saute for few seconds. When the spices splutter add chopped green chilli, red chilli and mix well.
  2. Add flattened rice, salt, pinch of citric acid ( optional ). Mix well and fry for few minutes.
  3. Turn off the gas and allow this to cool. Store it in airtight container.
My Tip: You can also add dried coconut slices ,cashew nuts to this, adding citric acid is optional.
