Ingredients to make Chili Mushrooms

  • 1.5 lt yoghurt (from buffalo milk)
  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger-garlic churned into a paste
  • 5-6 chopped green chilies
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 1 tbsp sendha namak
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp jaggery
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 6 packs mushrooms (button/organic white) - cut into halves
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • 2 bell peppers/capsicum
  • 2 onions

How to make Chili Mushrooms

  1. for marination: Mix the yogurt with ginger-garlic paste, add green chilies - stir well.
  2. Add the spices (salt - jaggery - red chili powder) - stir well.
  3. Add the mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, onions and mix really well and let it stand for an hour.
  4. On a slow flame in a large wok, add the mustard oil and the marinated mushrooms - stir well and cook with a simmer on top.
  5. Allow it to stand for 20 minutes and stir - allow it to cool down a little and serve.
