ABOUT Potato Halwa RECIPE

This is a very authentic, easy and quick recipe of making delicious and soft potato halwa. Generally it is prepared during fasts but one can have it any time. It is very nutritious as it has many vitamins and carbohydrates.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 4 - Big size, boiled and mashed potatoes
  2. 1/2 Cup - Fine sugar or as per taste
  3. 1/2 Cup - Milk
  4. 1 tbsp - Ghee
  5. 1/4 tsp - Cardamom Powder
  6. 1/2 tsp - Chironji or chiroli
  7. 2 tbsp - Dry fruits like chopped pistachios, cashews and almonds
  8. 2 pinches - Saffron threads

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan / kadhai, add mashed potatoes and saute on a very low flame till it turns golden in color. Add sugar and milk and mix thoroughly so that it blends well.
  2. Add chironji and cook on medium flame for 5 minutes until you get the aroma of roasting of potatoes.
  3. Do the plating. Garnish with elaichi powder and saffron strands and chopped dry fruits.
