Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 300 gms Prawn Flesh
  2. 300 gms Finely Chopped Onion
  3. 200 gms Fined Chopped Tomato
  4. 50 gms Pounded Garlic
  5. 2.5 tsp Chilli powder
  6. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  7. 1/2 tsp fennel powder
  8. 2 tbsp of oil
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 1 sprig curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Remove the shell and de-vein the prawns and wash. Cut and finely chop the Onions and tomatoes . Pound the peeled garlic pods.
  2. In a pan add 1 tbsp of oil and add garlic to it. Saute for couple of minutes.
  3. Next add onions and tomatoes and saute for 2 minutes.
  4. Now stir and add Chilli powder, turmeric powder and half the quantity of salt to the pan, stir and close the pan with the lid.
  5. Reduce the flame to medium and keep it closed for 4 minutes.
  6. Now open and give a stir, by now the tomatoes and onions should have turned soft, mash it.
  7. Stir the mixture on low flame without the lid and allow the moisture to get reduced for another 4 minutes.
  8. Now add prawns along with half the quantity of salt stir and close the pan with a lid on medium flame for 3 minutes.
  9. Remove the lid and increase the flame to high and keep stirring for 2 minutes.
  10. Next decrease to low flame and add fennel powder and curry leaves and give a stir. Now swirl the remaining 1 tbsp oil.
  11. Keep the pan open on low flame for 2 minutes and remove from heat.
  12. Serve with rice.
