Healthy Onion Vada

Ingredients to make Healthy Onion Vada

  • 200 gms Chana dal
  • 50 gms moong dal (yellow)
  • 2 big onions
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • 5-6 green chilies
  • 1 pod peeled garlic
  • 1 inch Ginger Piece
  • 1 Tbsp Finely chopped coriander
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for Deep frying

How to make Healthy Onion Vada

  1. Soak the lentils separately for 4-5 hours.
  2. Clean the dals thoroughly.
  3. In the mixer add all the ingredients except oil for deep frying and make it to a coarse mixture.
  4. Make sure that the mixture is not watery and the batter is thick.
  5. Heat the oil In a pan.Deep dry the vadas in the oil.Deep dry till it turns golden brown in colour.
  6. Serve hot with sauce, chutney or hot tea or coffee.
My Tip: You may also add corn in the mixture.
