About Lab-e-Shireen

Its very tasty dessert with lots of fruits and dry fruits , jellies and served chilled. So so delicious . Its usually made on the ocassion of Eid.

Ingredients to make Lab-e-Shireen

  • Mixed fruits of own choice ( 1 banana , half pomegranate , 1 cup canned pine apple , 1 apple cut in cubes , 1 and half cup papaya , 1 cup chopped mango ,1 cup grapes )
  • Dry fruits ( sliced almonds , cashews , pistachios)
  • Jelly( mango, pomegranate) - different flavours ( 1 cup)
  • Amul fresh cream - 1 tetra pack
  • Milk - 1 litre
  • Vermicelli - 1/2 cup boiled
  • sugar - 1/2 cup or as per taste
  • Vanilla custard - 4 or 5 tbsp
  • Water - 1/4 Cup

How to make Lab-e-Shireen

  1. In a bowl put the whole packet of fresh cream and whisk it little.
  2. Then add all the chopped fruits in the cream. The size of chopped fruits be same. Mix it well so that it gets coated properly and keep it aside.
  3. In a pan add milk and let it simmer. Add sugar in it and let the sugar dissolve completely.
  4. In a separate small bowl of water put vanilla custard powder and mix it well so no lumps are formed.
  5. Add this mixture slowly slowly in the milk and keep stirring it side by side till it gets thickened.
  6. Switch of the flame and let it cool.
  7. In the mean time boil the vermicelli in enough water in another pan until soft.
  8. Drain it. Let it cool.
  9. When all the things are at room temperature, put the vermicelli in it. Mix it.
  10. Now put the mix fruits in cream in the milk custard.
  11. Mix it well. Add some dry fruits and jelly.
  12. The super tasty Lab-e-shireen is ready. Keep it in refrigerator and serve it chilled.
  13. Garnish with some more jellies and dry fruits. And enjoy this delicious dessert.
My Tip: Custard powder can be replaced by cornflour. And add little drops of vanilla essence.
