Ingredients to make Veggie puffs !

  • 1 box : Puff pastry sheets
  • 1 tsp : oil
  • 1/4 cup : Onions,finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup : Potato, shredded
  • Salt : to taste
  • 1/4 cup : Carrots, shredded
  • 1/4 tsp : Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp : Coriander powder
  • 1/8 tsp : Turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp : Chaat masala
  • 1/4 tsp : Dry mango powder
  • 1 tsp : Red chlli powder Or to taste
  • 2 tbsp : Cilantro, finely chopped

How to make Veggie puffs !

  1. Take the sheets of Puff Pastry out and thaw them at room temperature for about 40 minutes.
  2. Pre heat the Oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit or 200 degree Celsius..
  3. Now for the stuffing, take a small skillet and heat Oil on medium heat.
  4. Once hot, add in the Onions and saute till they turn translucent.
  5. Add in the Potatoes and a little salt. Mix well, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes till the Potatoes are cooked.
  6. Add in the Carrots and the cilantro. Mix well.
  7. Stir in the spices I.e Cumin Powder, Coriander Powder, Turmeric Powder, Chaat Masala, Dry Mango Powder and Red Chili Powder.
  8. Mix really well and keep aside to cool down a bit.
  9. Cut the pastry sheet into 8 equal requal rectangles.
  10. Put 1 tbsp (approx) of the stuffing in the center.
  11. Fold the Pastry Sheet diagonally to make a triangle or in the centre to form a rectangle.
  12. Use a fork or by hand press the open edges gently yet firmly to seal the openings.
  13. Place the prepared Puffs on a cookie sheet lined with parchment/foil.
  14. Bake them in the pre-heated oven at 400 degrees F or 200 degree Celsius for 15 minutes.
  15. Once they are out of the oven, transfer them to a cooling rack and allow them to rest and cool down for 5 minutes.
  16. Serve them hot with green chutney or ketchup.
  17. Crispy and flaky veggie Puffs like bakery bought are ready to Hogg .
