ABOUT Pinwheel Sandwich dhokla with Sauteed vegetable RECIPE
Its a combination of pinwheel sandwich and dhokla concept.I served it with Sauteed vegetable.Its very healthy and tasty also.You can serve it as breakfast or as a party starter also.

Ingredients Serving: 4
Bread slices-6 pieces
For sandwich filling:
Oil-1 tablespoon
Dry red chilli-2 piece
Whole cumin seeds-1/2 teaspoon
Boiled potato mashed-1& 1/2 large size
Chopped coriander leaves-3 tablespoon
Grated ginger-1 tablespoon
Green chilli-1 finely chopped
Cumin powder-1 teaspoon
Coriander powder-1 teaspoon
Red chilli powder-1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon
Garam masala powder-1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Pinch of sugar
Green chatney For spreading over bread
For dhokla batter:
Gram flour-1/2 cup
Carom seed-1/2 teaspoon
Baking soda-1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil for greasing the steamer
For sauteed vegetables:
Onion Sliced-1 large size
Red bell pepper sliced-1 small size
yellow bell pepper sliced-1 small size
Green capsicum sliced-1 small size
Green chilli (slit)-2-3 pieces
Curry leaves-15-20 pieces
Chat masala-1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon
Red chilli powder-1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Lemon juice-1 teaspoon
Oil-2 tablespoon
Whole mustard seeds-1 teaspoon
Whole cumin seeds-1 teaspoon
For garnishing,
Sliced cucumber
Sliced carrot
Tomato rose
Instructions
Take a pan and add oil to make sandwich filling.Allow it to heat.
Add whole cumin and red chilli.Let it splutter.
Add ginger and green chilli in oil.Saute for 1-2 minutes.
Add mashed potato in it.
Add all dry spices in it except garam masala.
Add salt and sugar.
Now mix everything well and cook it for few minutes until it becomes like a dough.
At the last add garam masala and coriander leaves.Turn off the heat.Let it cool to room temperature.
Meanwhile,take the bread slices.Cut all sides.
Roll each of the bread with rolling pin.
Spread very little green chatney over each bread.
Now spread the sandwich filling over the bread.It will not be a very thick layer.
Now roll the bread into a cylinder shape very gently.
Now we need to make besan dhokla batter.
So take everything for batter in a mixing bowl.Add little water to make a medium thick batter.Ensure that there is no lump in the batter.This batter should be smooth.Keep it aside.
Heat the steamer with water.
Grease the steamer pan with little oil so that bread roll doesn't stick to it.
Now dip each bread sandwich rolls into besan batter and place them into greased steamer pan.
Steam it For 15-20 minutes or until dhokla layer is cooked.
Switch off the steamer and let it cool little bit.
Meanwhile take oil in pan for sauteed vegetables.Let it heat.
Add whole masala,let it splutter.
Add curry leaves and green chilli. Saute it for a minute.
Then add onion and saute it for 1 minute.
Add all other vegetables.Season with salt and dry masala.
Saute it for 5-6 minutes in medium heat.
Add lemon juice.Switch off the flame.
Now take out the sandwich dhokla from steamer.
Cut into slice and add it into the hot sauteed vegetables.Toss it 1 or 2 times.
Serve it in a plate.Garnish it with cucumbers and carrots slices, tomato rose.
