Ingredients to make Jeera Khari Biscuits /Puff Pastry Biscuits

  • One 200 gms sheet of Puff Pastry (Homemade or Store bought)
  • 2 tbsp cumin Powder (Jeera)
  • water for Brushing

How to make Jeera Khari Biscuits /Puff Pastry Biscuits

  1. Thaw the frozen puff pastry sheet for at least 30 minutes in a tropical climate and 1 hour in a cold climate.
  2. Preheat oven to 230°C and line a cookie sheet with Parchment/Butter paper.
  3. Roll out the thawed pastry into a rectangle and sprinkle the cumin powder evenly over it. With a silicone brush dipped in water, brush evenly over the whole rolled sheet.
  4. Cut into finger shapes, rectangles or squares with a pizza cutter and lay the pieces evenly over the prepared cookie sheet.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes until the top is a beautiful burnished golden colour. Then take the cookie sheet out and reverse the biscuits with a spatula.
  6. Lower the heat to 180°C and cook for a further 15 minutes till the pastry has dried inside out and the biscuits are crispy and buttery!
  7. Remove and cool on the sheets. Serve warm or at room temperature.
