ABOUT Mini Spinach Pockets RECIPE

This is a baked starter or snacks which is rich in Protein , Calcium. This is really a healthy starter which keeps the stomach full till lunch.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For Filling:
  2. 2 cups chopped Spinach
  3. 1 medium sized onion chopped
  4. 3 Garlic cloves chopped
  5. 2 tbsp Oil
  6. 1/2 cup frozen peas
  7. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  8. 1 tsp garam masala powder
  9. 1 tsp Amchur Powder or Dry Mango Powder
  10. 1/3 cup Grated Mozzarella Cheese
  11. For Dough:
  12. 1 cup all purpose flour
  13. 2 tbsp oil + Oil for brushing
  14. 1 tsp Salt
  15. 1/4 tsp carrom seeds
  16. Lukewarm water as per the requirement

Instructions

  1. For Filling
  2. Heat oil in a pan ,add Onion and Garlic and saute for a minute. Now add Frozen peas and saute for a minute again.
  3. Add Spinach and cook on low to medium flame till it becomes wilted. This may take around 2-3 minutes
  4. Now add turmeric powder, Garam Masala , Red chili powder and Amchur powder. Mix it well and let it cool down.
  5. Now add Mozzarella Cheese into it and mix it. Stuffing is ready.
  6. For Dough: Add salt, 2 tbsp oil and Carrom seeds in all-purpose flour.
  7. Mix them well and add lukewarm water in batches to make a firm dough. Divide the dough in equal sized balls.
  8. Roll out the dough to big circle and cut it into 8 pieces
  9. Take out one piece and put the stuffing on it. Start folding from one side. Fold from another side.
  10. Seal it properly from all ends. Press them down gently. Do until dough is completed
  11. Bake them for 10-15 minutes in preheated oven at 180 deg until golden brown
  12. Flip them in between and once baked serve them with your choice of Chutney
