Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Rice flour 1 cup
  2. Split chickpea 1/2 cup
  3. Refined oil 4 teaspoon
  4. Asafoetida 1 pinch
  5. 2 green chilies finely chopped
  6. Ginger garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  7. Salt as per taste
  8. Garam masala 1 teaspoon
  9. Amchur powder 1 teaspoon
  10. Chilly powder 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Water as required
  12. Mustard seeds 1/4 teaspoon
  13. Dry red chilly 2
  14. Sesame seeds 1/8 teaspoon
  15. Curry leaves 10-12

Instructions

  1. Soak split chickpeas for 4 hours
  2. Add salt and oil to rice flour in a bowl. Add water and knead dough
  3. Grind soaked split chickpeas. Add all spices and salt. Mix well. Keep it aside
  4. Divide dough into equal portions
  5. Roll in thick layer
  6. Add 1 teaspoon stuffing and shape like half moon
  7. Boil pitthas in boiling water for 10 minutes
  8. Check with knife if its done, if not done , cook for some more time
  9. Allow to cool. Cut into small pieces
  10. Heat 2 teaspoon oil, splutter mustard seeds
  11. Add Sesame seeds ,Curry leaves and red chilies and saute for few seconds
  12. Add the pitthas and mix well
  13. Serve hot
