ABOUT Chicken pulav RECIPE

A basic chicken pulav just perfect for any occasion to make things easy and light. Made with whole spices and some coconut milk brings a lovely blend of whole spices. Serve it with any gravy of your choice or a simple onion raita.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken - 300 gms(large peices with bone)
  2. Rice - 2 cups
  3. Oil and ghee-3 tbsps
  4. Onion - 2 large
  5. Whole spices :
  6. Cardamon - 4
  7. Cloves - 6
  8. Cinnamon - 2 sticks
  9. Whole black pepper - 5 to 6
  10. Bay leaves - 3
  11. Star ainse - 1
  12. Freshly ground whole spice - 1/4 tsp
  13. Water - 2 1/2cups
  14. Coconut milk - 2 cups (thick)
  15. Green chillies - 4
  16. Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsps
  17. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak rice
  2. Add ghee and oil to a deep pressure pan.
  3. Add the whole spices. Add sliced onions and green chillies. saute till lightly browned
  4. Add the washed chicken peices. Add ginger garlic paste and some salt. Saute well till half done
  5. Now add the washed rice and mix well
  6. Add the water. Let it come to a rolling boil
  7. Now add the coconut milk, garam masala powder and salt to season.
  8. Pressure cook for 2 whistles. Let it cool till the pressure goes. Open and fluff with light hand.
  9. Serve hot with raita or gravy.
