Pop Corn Bhel

Ingredients to make Pop Corn Bhel

  • For Chutney or Sauce:
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 cup Onions, diced
  • 2 cloves of Garlic
  • 1 cup Tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Red crushed Pepper (red chili flakes)
  • 1 tbsp Cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Sriracha hot chili sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp Maggi Masala chili ketchup (spicy chili sauce)
  • 3 tbsp Hot and Spicy Cheddar cheese sauce (You can use any spread cheese)
  • Salt to taste
  • For serving:
  • 150 gms Popped popcorn (2-3 bags not popped)
  • 2 tbsp Potatoes, boiled and chopped
  • 2 tbsp Onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Bell peppers, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Chopped cilantro

How to make Pop Corn Bhel

  1. For chutney or sauce: Heat oil in a pan. Add diced onions and garlic cloves in it.
  2. Cook for about 3-4 minutes. Add diced tomatoes and saute for a few minutes.
  3. Add salt, red chili powder, red crushed pepper and oregano. Mix all and cook for a while.
  4. Turn off the stove and keep the pan on stove for about 1 minute.
  5. Transfer all into a grinder cup. Grind all and make smooth paste. Transfer paste into a bowl.
  6. Heat cheddar cheese sauce and cream cheese for about a minute or till gets smooth liquid texture. Add cheese sauce into paste and mix.
  7. Add ketchup, sriracha hot chili sauce and maggi masala chili sauce into paste and mix well all together. Keep on side for serving time.
  8. For serving: Take big mixing bowl.
  9. Add popcorns, chopped onions, boiled chopped potatoes, chopped tomatoes, chopped bell pepper and chopped cilantro.
  10. Mix well. Add 3-4 big serving spoons of chutney or sauce.
  11. If you need more chutney or sauce, add it according to your taste. Garnish with some chopped onions, bell peppers, red crushed pepper and oregano
  12. A very unique sweet and savory and chatpati dish is ready to serve.
