Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup black beans,drained and rinsed
  2. 1 tbsp olive oil
  3. 1 onion chopped
  4. 4 garlic cloves minced
  5. 1 to 2 tsp chilli pwr
  6. 1 tsp ground cumin
  7. 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  8. 1 tsp chilli sauce
  9. 1/2 green bell pepper cut into 2 inch pieces

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mash black beans with a fork to make a thick paste. In a food processor, finely chop bell pepper, onion and garlic.
  2. Then mix it with mashed beans. Add chilli powder,cumin seeds and chilli sauce.
  3. Mix bread crumbs until the mixture is sticky and holds together.
  4. Divide the mixture into four equal patties. On a grilling plate place patties for about 8 mins.
  5. Cook each side and turn only once till both sides are crisp and a brown crust forms on both side.
  6. Now take a burger, cut it from middle, cook a little and place cheese slices on both pieces.
  7. Spread 2 tbsp tomato sauce and hot chilli sauce. Place the patties and add some sliced onion, tomato and green lettuce leaves. Serve with ketchup.
