Ingredients to make Tadke wali Dal

  • 1 cup split moong dal soaked
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 2 chopped tomatoes
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • Some coriander leaves
  • turmeric 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • For tadka
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • A pinch hing
  • 2 dried red chillies
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 5 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 tsp kasturi methi

How to make Tadke wali Dal

  1. Put soaked dal and ingredients mentioned under dal in a cooker.
  2. Add 2 cups of water. Cook for 4 whistles.
  3. Mash the dal. Add some water if needed and cook till the desired consistency is reached.
  4. Transfer into a serving bowl.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and prepare the tadka. Pour this over the Dal.
  6. Serve hot.
