Ingredients to make BIYAM PINDI MUKKALU VEPUDU - rice flour dipped veggie fry

  • FOR THE DIP:
  • Rice Flour - 6 sp
  • Sesame Seeds (nuvvulu) - 2 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • VEGETABLES:
  • Potals - 6
  • Potato - 2
  • Bitter gourd - 1
  • Raw banana - 1

How to make BIYAM PINDI MUKKALU VEPUDU - rice flour dipped veggie fry

  1. Wash and cut the vegetables in circles length wise. Thickness should be around 5 mm.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add all the vegetables and spices and close with a lid. Set aside 1/2 hour for marinating.
  3. Heat a kadai with oil.
  4. Check the vegetables. They sould have got marinated with the moisture oozing out from them. Add little bit of water if the flours are not sticking.
  5. Deep fry the veggies on medium flame.
My Tip: a)The above recipe, since it involves deep frying, I keep it for occasions. For regular use, I take a mix of Potals(parvals), potatoes and drumsticks. Cut the potals into halves length wise. Boil the vegetables firm Al dente in salt water. Strain the water, add the chilli powder, rice flour, salt and very less sesame seeds optionally and shallow fry both sides on tawa. Kids love it !! b) The second picture is with finely cut Raw Bananas.
