  • Ridge gourd or Turai 2 Medium size
  • carrot 1 big size
  • moong dal 1/2 cup
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • salt
  • For Grinding
  • coconut 1/2 cup
  • jeera 1/2 tsp
  • pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Res chillies 2
  • For Tadka
  • coconut oil
  • mustard
  • hing
  • Split urad dal
  • curry leaves

How to make Ridge gourd and Carrot Kootu(High Protein, Fiber rich)

  1. BOIL 1/2 CUP RINSED MOONG DAL IN 4 CUPS OF WATER
  2. ADD 1/2 TSP TURMERIC POWDER
  3. ADD SLICED RIDGE GOURD OR TURAI AND CARROT
  4. ADD SALT TO TASTE
  5. IN A BLENDER, ADD 1/2 CUP COCONUT, 2 RED CHILLIES, 1/2 TSP JEERA AND PEPPER. GRIND TO SMOOTH PASTE
  6. MIX WITH COOKED DAL
  7. TURN OFF THE FLAME WHEN BUBBLES ARE FORMED
  8. ADD TADKA MADE WITH COCONUT OIL, MUSTARD, HING, SPLIT URAD DAL AND CURRY LEAVES

You can also Pressure cook dal and veggies
