Chicken Dumplings / Steamed Momos

Ingredients to make Chicken Dumplings / Steamed Momos

  • Cover
  • All purpose flour 2 cups
  • oil 1tbsp
  • Salt 1/2tsp
  • Water 1cup
  • Filling
  • Shredded chicken 300gm
  • Onion sliced 2cup
  • Spring onions 2 small
  • Ginger minced 1tbsp
  • Garlic minced 1tbsp
  • Turmeric 1/2tsp
  • Chilli powder 1tsp
  • Garam masala 1tsp
  • salt as needed
  • Tomato sauce 1tsp
  • Sauce
  • Dry red chillies soaked in vinegar 6no.s
  • Tomato 2no.s
  • Coriander leaves 1tbsp
  • salt as needed

How to make Chicken Dumplings / Steamed Momos

  1. Make a dough for covering by kneading the flour oil salt and water. Cover it with damp cloth to avoid it from getting dry.
  2. Prepare the filling by sauteening the onion ,ginger,garlic and spring onions. Add the shredded chicken pieces and saute it.
  3. Add chilli powder,garam masala, turmeric and salt and tomato sauce
  4. Allow the mix to cool.
  5. Prepare small poori s from the dough and stuff a tbsp of filling in each one.
  6. Pull out the sides of the poori together to the shape of momos as shown in picture.
  7. Take a steamer and apply little oil on the plate or surface where the momos will be kept for steaming (to prevent sticking).
  8. Steam the momos well till the covering seems to be transparent and not sticky.
  9. Enjoy the steaming hot momos with red hot sauce.(Blend Dry red chillies soaked in vinegar and oven or tawa roasted tomatoes with a pinch of salt). Coriander leaves can be added.
