Ingredients to make Imarti

  • 1cup urad dal(black gram)
  • 1cup sugar
  • 2tbsp corn flour
  • Few drops of orange colour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1tsp cardamom powder
  • 1tsp lemon juice
  • ghee for deep fry
  • Chopped pistachio,almond and rose petals for garnish

How to make Imarti

  1. MELT 1 CUP SUGAR IN 1/2 CUP WATER ON MEDIUM HEAT
  2. BOIL TILL YOU GET A 1 THREAD CONSISTENCY
  3. ADD 1 TSP CARDAMOM POWDER
  4. ADD 1 TSP LEMON JUICE, MIX & KEEP ASIDE
  5. GRIND 1 CUP SOAKED ( FOR 2 HOURS ) URAD DAL INTO A FINE PASTE
  6. MAKE A SMOOTH BATTER LIKE THIS
  7. ADD 2 TBSP CORNFLOUR, FEW DROPS OF ORANGE COLOUR, MIX
  8. FILL THE BATTER INTO A PIPING BAG
  9. HEAT GHEE, PRESS OUT THE IMARTIS INTO IT
  10. FRY ON LOW HEAT UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN
  11. COOK ON BOTH SIDES
  12. DIP THE FRIED IMARTIS INTO THE WARM SUGAR SYRUP & REMOVE
